Bfs
BACKFACE SIGNATURE
The visible or measurable bulge or indentation on the backface of armor after stopping a projectile. It is a critical metric for evaluating armor performance, as excessive BFS may result in significant blunt force injuries even if penetration does not occur. All body armor manufacturers strive to achieve a bullet proof vest. For a variety of reasons this is not possible. Any armor product will normally be described as ‘bullet resistant’ because many factors are involved which the manufacturer cannot control.
